Flesh eating bacteria is behind a lawsuit that was filed recently by a woman who claims she was injured while living in a nursing home. The bacteria in question is necrotizing fasciitis, most famously known for the very large lesions it can create and the incredible amount of damage it can cause to the body. The woman's lawsuit alleges that she eventually developed a large lesion that extended through her abdominal wall, according to the lawsuit.

This particular lawsuit alleges that the nursing home staff failed to clean the feeding tube that the woman was dependent upon and that the bacteria entering her body through there. The woman did end up requiring surgery to get rid of the damaged tissue.
